Last evening, under the starlit sky of the Gardenmorris Estate, I found myself enveloped in the sheer magic of music and history. The event, organised by Cathal Queally to benefit the town of Bonmahon tidy town, was set against the backdrop of the Millennium Hall, a gem dating back to the early 19th century within the Gardenmorris Estate. This French Chateux-style house, nestled in the lush countryside of Waterford, is not just a piece of history; it's a living, breathing space that connects the past with the present. It was an honour to collaborate with Cathal Queally on a song that speaks to the heart of Bonmahon, "Our Home Town." The performance was an emotional journey, not just for me but for everyone who gathered in the Millennium Hall. As I sang, I could feel the weight of history, and the joy of the present, it's rare to find a venue that not only adds to the performance but becomes a part of the story being told. The Gardenmorris Estate, and the legacy of the Queally family's warmth and hospitality, did just that. This performance was more than just a song; it was a testament to the power of community, the beauty of our home town, and the unforgettable memories people can create when they come together. It was a magical evening, and I am very proud to have been involved.
